Postdoctoral Researcher in Climate Science

The Faculty of SCIENCE at the University of Copenhagen invites applications for three postdoctoral researcher positions in the Physics of Ice, Climate and Earth (PICE) section.
The positions are part of the ambitious EU-funded P2F project, which aims to create a framework that uses new knowledge of past climatic conditions to project future climate change.
The successful candidates will work on specific projects, focusing on various aspects of climate science, including defining the states and variability of the terrestrial cryosphere, addressing the role of sea ice in high-frequency temperature variability, and analyzing AMOC transitions in hosing experiments.
Applicants should have a strong background in physics, mathematics, geophysics, environmental sciences, climate science, or chemistry, and a curious experimental mindset. Prior experience with ice core analysis, such as Continuous Flow Analysis and Ion chromatography, is an advantage.
Responsibilities include carrying out independent research projects, participating in active research environments, conducting teaching and knowledge dissemination activities, and writing scientific papers.
The positions are full-time and for a maximum of 2 years. The University of Copenhagen offers a stimulating and international environment with a strong network of national and international collaborators.
Requirements and QualificationsApplicants should have a PhD degree in a relevant field, a strong publication record, and excellent communication skills. Prior experience with community synthesis efforts, data from ice core records, and existing databases like Pangaea and NOAA-NCEI-Paleo is an advantage.
