Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented researcher to contribute to our efforts in developing integrated optical phased array (OPA) on silicon nitride integration platform for bioimaging.

This is an exciting opportunity for early-stage researchers looking to establish their career as scientists in photonic integrated circuits and bioimaging. You will be working at DTU Electro, in the Photonic Integrated Circuit based Systems (PICSys) group, with access to cutting-edge laboratory facilities and collaborations with professionals in photonic integrated devices, optical communications, optical computing, electronic circuits design, and FPGA programming.

The project is funded by Novo Nordisk Foundation, and as a participant, you will become part of a team with expertise in design, simulation, nanofabrication, characterization, and application of PIC. The activities within the project will benefit from synergies with other projects in the group as well as with other activities in the department.

Your primary tasks will include designing and fabricating optical phased array chip on SiN platform, developing integrated athermal OPA on SiN platform by incorporating titanium oxide (TiO2), characterizing the integrated optical phased array with on-chip calibration functionality for solid-state optical beam steering, and applying integrated OPAs for biomedical imaging applications.

You will also supervise BSc and MSc student projects, co-supervise PhD students, perform data analysis, write scientific articles, and participate in outreach activities such as social media updates and public events.
