Postdoc in Silicon Carbide Photonics

We are seeking a highly motivated research scientist to contribute to our pioneering project, 'High-Efficiency High-Power Laser Beaming in-Space Systems Based on SiC (RePowerSiC)', funded by the EIC Pathfinder Challenge. As a leader in silicon carbide optoelectronics, we anticipate that your involvement will significantly impact our research outcomes.
You will be part of the wide bandgap semiconductor photonics group at DTU Electro, under the supervision of Associate Professor Haiyan Ou. Your primary focus will be on designing, fabricating, and characterizing antireflection layers for SiC, optimizing fabrication processes for low series resistance and high-efficiency SiC laser power converters, and building experimental setups to characterize efficiency.
As a Postdoc, you will also explore the high-power density limit in SiC laser power converters theoretically and experimentally. You will collaborate closely with other group members and European partners to achieve novel ultra-efficient SiC-laser power converters for in-space energy transmission.
To succeed in this role, you should have experience in nano/micro fabrication, experimental or theoretical photonics, experimental or theoretical electronics, semiconductor physics, or solid-state physics. Additionally, you should demonstrate interest in student supervision and have a proven track record of relevant research.
