Postdoc in Population Genetics Focused on Greenlandic Land Mammals

The University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly motivated Postdoc in Population Genomics focused on Greenlandic land mammals.
Project OverviewThis project involves analyzing whole genome datasets for Greenlandic land mammals, including arctic fox, caribou, arctic hare, wolves, and lemmings. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on an exciting collaboration with The Greenland Institute of Natural Resources.
Research GroupThe research group consists of 1 PhD student and 3 postdocs in a joint lab environment with 3 other research groups. The lab environment offers weekly lab meetings, shared offices, and collaborative projects.
Qualifications- A PhD in population genetics/genomics, bioinformatics, or a similar quantitative field.
- Strong interest and background in population genomics.
- Ability to program in at least one common programming language and experience with Linux/Unix and command lines.
- Experience working with genetic data, preferably high-throughput whole genome DNA sequencing data.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
Terms of EmploymentThe position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff. Terms of appointment and payment follow the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
