Ecological Modelling Researcher

We are seeking a highly skilled researcher to join our team at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) as a Tenure Track Assistant Professor in Ecological Modelling. The successful candidate will have a strong background in ecological modelling, with a focus on coastal ecosystems, pressure-impact relationships, and aquatic nature restoration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop advanced dynamic models addressing key aspects of coastal ecosystem functioning.
- Analyze interactions between pressures, coastal habitats, and environmental conditions.
- Advance our understanding of how food production, including Low Trophic Aquaculture and coastal fisheries, interacts with coastal ecosystems already affected by human pressures like eutrophication.
- Improve models, methods, and decision-support tools for coastal ecosystem management and restoration.
- Predict impacts of different management strategies for coastal ecosystems under present and future conditions.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals.
- Be part of the section's team providing advice to public management and industry.
- Teach and supervise at BSc and MSc level and be co-supervisor for PhD students.
Requirements:
- PhD degree in aquatic ecology, ecological modelling, environmental science, engineering, or similar.
- Experience with application and development of process-based ecological models.
- Strong skills in scientific programming (Python, R, Matlab, etc.).
- Preferable experience with model and software development.
- Experience in data analysis and statistical tools.
- Publications in high-ranking journals.
- Preferably experience with advisory work and teaching.
- Good collaboration and communication skills.
