About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Chartering Manager to join our team at Dampskibsselskabet Norden A/S. As a key member of our Chartering department, you will play a crucial role in driving growth and profitability in the Handysize market.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Negotiate and Secure Profitable Shipping Contracts: Utilize your expertise to negotiate and secure profitable shipping contracts, optimizing vessel utilization while adapting to fluctuating market conditions.
  2. Maximize Earnings on Own Tonnage: Focus on maximizing earnings on own tonnage, handling short & medium-term contracts, tonnage and cargoes by making autonomous decisions.
  3. Develop Strategic Trades: Develop strategic trades to enable growth globally, analyzing market research, information, and trends to formulate and share market views.
  4. Coordinate Fleet Positioning: Coordinate and position our fleet in close cooperation with your direct team and our global offices.
Requirements
  1. 5-10 Years of Experience: Hold 5-10 years of experience as a Chartering Manager or from a similar role, ideally within the Handysize market.
  2. Commercial Acumen: Possess a sharp commercial sense to assess risks, evaluate market conditions, and make quick, data-driven decisions that optimize vessel utilization and profitability.
  3. Negotiation Skills: Demonstrate proven negotiation abilities to secure competitive contracts with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders, ensuring favorable terms and maximized profitability.
  4. Regulatory Knowledge: Understand relevant regulations, compliance standards, and risk management practices to ensure all operations are conducted in line with legal and company requirements.
