The Natural History Museum of Denmark, part of the University of Copenhagen’s Faculty of Science, is seeking experienced professionals to join their Conservation Unit.

As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in preparing and installing various objects for the new public galleries. Your primary focus will be on conserving, preparing, and installing specimens from the museum's vast historic collections, as well as new acquisitions.

The successful candidate will have expertise in remedial conservation of natural history objects, including taxidermy, skeletal preparations, paleontological, and fluid preparations. You will also need to demonstrate experience working in large-scale collection moves and the ability to independently investigate and develop new specimen preparation methods.

In this exciting role, you will assist the Head of Conservation Unit with day-to-day management of the conservation lab and scheduling of object treatments. You will also contribute to preventive conservation needs and advice across the wider museum.

Your responsibilities will include investigation, planning, and undertaking conservation treatments on various natural history collection types. Additionally, you will write detailed reports for objects, including photography, and oversee packing and transport of objects.

To be considered for this position, you must possess relevant academic qualifications combined with equivalent experience. A strong understanding of preventive conservation expertise is essential, along with excellent communication and writing skills. Fluency in English is mandatory, while a demonstrable interest in science communication and experience sharing content via multiple social networks are advantageous.

The estimated annual salary for this role is around 55-65,000 euros, depending on your experience and qualifications.
