We're a pioneering company dedicated to reducing CO2 emissions by fermenting it into carbon-negative chemicals. Our mission is to make a significant impact on the environment, and we're seeking an experienced professional to lead our bioprocess development efforts.
Job SummaryWe're looking for a highly skilled Head of R&D to oversee our strain development activities, optimize existing products, and develop new ones through advanced biological and chemical processes. This role combines cutting-edge experiment design, data interpretation, cross-team collaboration, and strategic communication with senior stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Lead innovation efforts across multidisciplinary teams, optimizing existing products and developing new ones via biological and chemical processes
- Lead all strain development and computational team activities, translating overall strategy into objectives and tasks
- Collaborate with management to define strategic objectives and manage key priority projects
- Apply project management expertise to strain development initiatives
- Work closely with scientific teams to drive research and development goals
- Manage external research partnerships
- You have at least 5+ years of hands-on industrial R&D experience in strain development
- Relevant education (PhD or MSc) in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
- Proven ability in interpreting scientific data and solid understanding of statistics
- An effective communicator skilled in translating scientific data into actionable decisions and seamlessly engaging with both internal and external stakeholders
- You're a creative problem solver, always full of new ideas, hate taking 'no' for an answer, prefer to challenge the status quo, and never postpone until tomorrow what can be done today
- You'll work with a group of passionate scientists on challenging and meaningful projects
