Job Title: Assistant or Associate Professor in Work and Organizational Psychology

The Danish School of Education at Aarhus University invites applications for an assistant professorship or an associate professorship in work and organizational psychology with a focus on leadership in educational institutions.

About the Position

The assistant professorship is a full-time, three-year training position. The selected applicant will be required to complete a course in university teaching designed especially for assistant professors. The associate professorship is a tenured, permanent position.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent and collaborative empirical research focused on leadership in educational institutions, such as daycare centers, schools, or higher education institutions.
  • Communicate research-based knowledge to the research community, practice fields, media, and policymakers.
  • Teach and supervise students at Master's and professional Master's levels, including coordinating course modules.
  • Engage in research grant applications and international network consolidation.
Requirements
  • PhD or equivalent in psychology, educational psychology, or a related field.
  • Experience in work and organizational psychology with a focus on leadership in educational institutions.
  • Knowledge of theory, methods, and practice within the field.
  • Experience of or interest in teaching in relation to the Master's degree program in educational psychology and the professional Master's degree program in the psychology of well-being and capabilities.
  • Internationally oriented research profile and publication profile.
  • Experience of or interest in participating in national and international research networks.
  • Experience of or interest in communication and knowledge exchange.
  • Experience of interdisciplinary collaboration and research.
  • Experience of or potential for obtaining external research funding.
  • Experience of or interest in interdisciplinary teaching, including innovative teaching methods.
  • Experience of or interest in supervising student projects and researcher talent development.
Selection Criteria

The selection criteria for the assistant professorship include experience in work and organizational psychology, knowledge of theory and methods, and experience of teaching and research. For the associate professorship, the selection criteria include a well-established research profile, a strong publication record, and experience of teaching and research.

Working Conditions

The position will be affiliated to the educational psychology section within the Department of Educational Anthropology and Educational Psychology. The section is responsible for the Master's degree program in educational psychology and the professional Master's degree program in the psychology of well-being and capabilities.
