Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Københavns Universitet (KU) Full time

At Københavns Universitet (KU), we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to the Arctic biogenic volatile compounds from above (AVOCA) project, focusing on developing and applying remote sensing techniques using data from unmanned aerial systems (UAS), satellite data, and field work.

About the Project

The AVOCA project aims to quantify emissions of biogenic volatile organic compounds (BVOCs) in Arctic tundra. We will develop and apply new remote sensing methods to estimate BVOC emissions, surface classification/biodiversity assessment, photosynthesis, and plant stress observations in natural ecosystems.

Your Profile

We are looking for a candidate with experience in multi- and hyperspectral remote sensing and image analysis, as well as interest in working with UAS systems. Prior experience with operating UAS is not necessary, but excellent communication skills in written and spoken English are required. You will be responsible for a project work package (WP) in collaboration with the project PI.

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and apply remote sensing techniques for BVOC emission estimation
  • Contribute to the development of new methods for surface classification/biodiversity assessment and photosynthesis estimation
  • Collaborate with the project PI to design and implement the project WP
