Job Description
The Global Crisis Advisor will be responsible for implementing DRC's emergency response framework through policy development, strategic advice, and capacity building. Key tasks include:
- Strategic Support: Provide high-level guidance on emergency operations and preparedness within country programs delivered directly or indirectly according to DRC processes and structures.
- Policy Development: Adapt global policies, guidelines, and tools to contribute to DRC's emergency response framework and programming handbooks.
- Capacity Building: Support alignment with DRC core sectors and response framework in emergency activities, processes, tools, and protocols.
- Thematic Initiatives: Lead initiatives to develop policy, guidance, and tools on preparedness, emergency, and humanitarian programming topics.
- Organizational Preparedness: Support global organizational preparedness actions, including capacity development and resource mobilization.
About You
To succeed in this role, you should have solid experience in humanitarian emergency response and be motivated to make a difference in crisis situations. You should also possess excellent communication skills, intercultural competencies, and a strong understanding of humanitarian principles and core humanitarian standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of 6 years of experience designing or implementing emergency programming at response or country level.
- Experience within the international humanitarian sector, covering both implementation and strategic/management roles at country level.
- Previous experience at an NGO HQ or Regional office level is advantageous.
- Experience with DRC core sectors.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and lead processes involving multiple stakeholders and interests.
- Strong understanding and application of humanitarian principles and core humanitarian standards.
Benefits
This is a national position with a salary range of NOK 700,000 - NOK 1,200,000 per year, depending on experience. Contract length: 2 years. Due to limited funding, the position is temporary. We offer a dynamic work environment and opportunities for professional growth.
