Ramboll Group A/S is a leading architecture, engineering, and consultancy company seeking an experienced Coastal Engineer to join our team in Denmark. As a Senior Coastal Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality coastal engineering solutions for various projects.

About the Role

The successful candidate will have +10 years of experience in designing marine structures, such as quays, jetties, and berthing structures, pile decks, caissons, block walls, dolphins, etc. They will also have extensive knowledge of relevant design codes and design methodology.

As a leader in your field, you will take charge of technical coastal engineering excellence, deliver professional expertise to projects and customers, and manage numerical modelling tasks for waves, water levels, currents, sediment transport, etc. using state-of-the-art software like MIKE.

You will also be responsible for managing met-ocean analysis of waves, currents, and water levels to establish design conditions for both coastal and offshore projects. Additionally, you will design tasks using state-of-the-art coastal engineering methods to address problems related to marine structures and climate change.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic work environment with many stakeholders, possess great communication skills, and have English at a professional level. Danish language skills are highly appreciated, and any other language skills are a plus.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Taking the lead for technical coastal engineering excellence
  • Delivering professional expertise to projects and customers
  • Managing numerical modelling tasks for waves, water levels, currents, sediment transport, etc. using state-of-the-art software
  • Managing met-ocean analysis of waves, currents, and water levels to establish design conditions for both coastal and offshore projects
  • Designing tasks using state-of-the-art coastal engineering methods to address problems related to marine structures and climate change
  • Hydraulic design of water intake and outfall structures
  • Preparing technical documents (reports, drawings, specifications)
  • Engaging and interacting with other team members in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Driving the development and innovation of our hydraulic modelling excellence
  • Taking responsibility for technical project delivery as discipline lead/design manager
About You
  • A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or similar)
  • +10 years proven experience in the design of marine structures
  • Knowledge about port equipment, mooring systems, and navigation
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant design codes and design methodology
  • Large experience with complex multidisciplinary marine projects
  • Great communication skills - English at a professional level; Danish is highly appreciated, and any other language skills are a plus
