Job Title: Head of Finance and Support Services

We are seeking an experienced and skilled professional to lead our finance and support services team in Syria. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and guidance on all finance, logistics, administrative, and human resource activities in support of our country program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical advice and operational guidance on project financing, risk assessment, and use of financing structures, mechanisms, instruments, and guarantees.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to identify needs, determine costs, and plan all country program support services, including procurement, logistics, finance, human resources, and administrative services.
  • Monitor country office financial projections and refer critical issues to the Country Director for action.
  • Provide advice on program and project cost sharing, deployment of funds, and closure.
  • Constantly monitor and analyze the operating environment to identify potential risks.
  • Support and ensure close liaison with field offices is maintained to troubleshoot any issues that might cause interruption in support services management.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5 years of INGO work experience in a similar managerial role is essential.
  • Experience as a manager, national mentor, and capacity builder is essential.
  • Good understanding of humanitarian principles linked to NGO field and operations contexts.
  • Work experience in remote and insecure contexts.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills.
  • Flexibility and cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.
  • Experience working with local partners would be advantageous.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic or Kurdish would be advantageous.
