The IT University of Copenhagen seeks a highly qualified individual for a full-time faculty position at the rank of full professor in computer science and data science. This esteemed role involves contributing to research and education, developing strategy, and mentoring junior faculty and postdocs in the applied-for area.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and conducting excellent teaching at university level
  • Conducting research in computer science or data science, especially within fields such as image analysis and machine learning, network science, and theoretical computer science
  • Disseminating research through academic papers, applications in other fields, industrial collaboration, software packages, public outreach, or other channels

In addition to these key responsibilities, candidates should be able to:

  • Attract external research funding
  • Build external collaborations in joint research projects with partners outside academia
  • Mentor junior faculty and postdocs

A PhD or similar in computer science, computer engineering, data science, statistics, computational mathematics, computational physics, or a closely related field is required. Research fields of particular interest include:

  • Image analysis and machine learning
  • Network science
  • Theoretical computer science

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of research and teaching, excellent communication skills, leadership skills in diverse environments, and the ability to develop and conduct excellent teaching at university level.

You should also provide a full CV, documentation of academic degrees, a short plan outlining and arguing for intended research and teaching initiatives and engagements, memorandum stating your most important scientific work relevant to the position, copies of publications or research contributions, information indicating experience and results in Ph.D. supervision, research management, fundraising and research cooperation, and documentation of pedagogical training and experience along with a teaching record relevant for the position.

We offer a competitive salary based on national Danish standards, estimated to be around 730,000 DKK per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
