Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Area Controller to join our team in H&M Denmark.

As an Area Controller, you will be responsible for driving sales and profitability growth in your area, covering approximately 20-25 stores. You will work closely with the Area Team to maximize profit in your area by securing store operations, driving selling, and improving customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Increase Selling: Work with the Area Team to ensure strong commercial execution in stores, identify business opportunities to improve performance, and follow up on actions using commercial KPIs.
  • Scheduling & Staff Planning: Secure scheduling and best practice processes that impact the customer experience, and work with Store Managers to define staff levels per task, day, and hour to ensure the right resources at the right time.
  • Securing Operations: Educate Store Teams on operational best practices, ensure store setup is optimized for great customer experience and high task efficiency, and educate Store Managers on this process.
  • Cost Control: Follow up and act on salary cost development in your area, constantly search for opportunities to optimize, and be aware of shop cost deviations, initiating corrective actions accordingly.
  • Coaching & Training: Educate Store Managers on identifying selling opportunities and improving customer experience, be the profit coach in your area, secure knowledge among stakeholders, and train controlling talents and drive their development to secure succession.
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 3-year working experience within retail, consulting, or business analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to train and coach Area- and Store Teams.
  • Strong track record of working analytically in Excel.
  • Clear logical thinking and well-developed analytical skills – turn analysis into action.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational, time-management, and interpersonal skills.
  • Natural leader with ability to inspire others to perform at their best.
  • Passionate about retail and developing customer experience in-store.
  • Interest in working in a dynamic team and fast-paced environment.
  • Strong business mindset, great communication skills, and true team player.
  • University degree within a business or another academic field would be an advantage.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
  • Fluent written and spoken one of the Scandinavian languages.

The position is a full-time, permanent role, based in our Support Office in Copenhagen, starting in mid-August.
