Lead Data Engineer for a High-Quality Customer Experience

A senior data engineer will play a key role in driving the bank's data journey towards a high-quality customer experience.

The data engineer will work closely with data and business experts to ensure data is enabled across the bank, adhering to Danske Bank technical frameworks. This will enable the delivery of high-quality customer products and support the bank's digital transformation.

The Personal Customers business unit is undergoing a large transformation, and a solid, sustainable, and secure data foundation is instrumental in achieving the bank's strategic goals. The data engineer will be part of the Customer Engagement Individuals tribe, which owns key customer-facing systems across the bank's channels and capabilities.

The data engineer will be responsible for developing data pipelines, ensuring data is efficiently moved, stored, organized, accessible, and scalable. They will also work closely with system and data owners to enable data across the data landscape and align data with the bank's regulatory, governance, security, and management frameworks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing data pipelines, including collection, ingestion, cleaning, transformation, and loading
  • Ensuring data is efficiently moved, stored, organized, accessible, and scalable
  • Ensuring sufficient and coherent documentation and reporting
  • Working closely with system and data owners to enable data across the data landscape
  • Aligning data with the bank's regulatory, governance, security, and management frameworks

Requirements include:

  • Extensive experience with data engineering and end-to-end data pipelining, including ETL processes
  • Experience with security, compliance, risk, load, and general financial services data
  • Proven proficiencies in database management, including relational databases like MySQL or PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases
  • Experience with integration tools, such as Apache Kafka, Apache NiFi, or cloud-based solutions like AWS Glue or Azure Data Factory
  • Experience with cloud vendors and data platforms, with big data technologies a plus
  • Advanced proficiency in Git for sophisticated version control and in-depth expertise in DevOps practices
  • Fluency in written and spoken English
