We are seeking an exceptional Academic Researcher in Environmental Engineering to join our team at Danmarks Tekniske Universitet (DTU) in Denmark. As a leading university department in environmental and resource engineering, we are dedicated to developing new environmentally friendly and sustainable technologies, methods, and solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-level research on data acquisition in water infrastructures and natural water bodies in urban and peri-urban areas. You will work closely with our team to strengthen our competencies within the areas of monitoring water quantity, water quality, and flooding.

Your Key Responsibilities

  1. Conduct innovative research on the use of cost-effective monitoring technologies for environmental monitoring and modeling.
  2. Develop new monitoring approaches based on the application of newly developed sensing technologies to various water matrices and water usage problems.
  3. Collaborate with our section to contribute to research and funding acquisition, as well as lead and contribute to innovation activities.
  4. Teach and supervise BSc and MSc student projects, and be a supervisor for PhD students covering a broad range of water monitoring related topics.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A PhD degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field, such as environmental engineering, electrical engineering, quantitative hydrology, earth sciences, or data science.
  • Strong research experience and a proven track record of publications in international journals.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary environment.
  • Fluency in English, with the ability to teach and communicate complex ideas to students and colleagues.
