Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Humanitarian Protection Manager to join our team in Kirumba, Democratic Republic of Congo. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing protection projects, managing project teams, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and accountability.
Key Responsibilities:
Define program scope, objectives, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with stakeholdersEnsure program adaptability to the operational context and adapt tools and project implementation approachesPlan the implementation of activities and oversee project performance as defined in the project proposal and according to the distribution of roles, in liaison with support servicesEnsure administrative follow-up and monitoring of the project's activitiesCoordinate Protection and Shelter and NFI activities, ensuring the highest protection mainstreaming standards throughout the project implementationEstablish contacts and operational links with the local authorities and humanitarian actors involved in the project for the implementation of activities, under the supervision of the Area ManagerIn coordination with the MEAL teams, ensure that an accountability system adapted to the context of the project is put in placeContribute to needs assessments to inform program design and strategic directionRequirements:
The ideal candidate will have a university degree or advanced university degree in a relevant field, such as political science, human rights, humanitarian project management, social work, international law, or international development. A minimum of 3-5 years of practical experience in the Protection field working for an INGO is required. Experience in Protection Monitoring, Case Management, Community Based Protection, and/or GBV is essential. Additionally, the candidate should have 2 years of practical experience in humanitarian multi-sectoral activity management, including distributions. Proven working experience in conflict and displacement affected areas is also necessary. Excellent writing and editing skills for external audiences are required. The ability to produce high-quality technical material, such as training materials, program tools, proposals, and strategic documents, is essential. Experience working with Monitoring and Evaluation is also desirable. Fluency in French and English is mandatory, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
