Earth System Modelling Researcher
We are seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Fellow to join our research team at the Niels Bohr Institute, Københavns Universitet (KU).
The successful candidate will have experience in using advanced climate models, such as the NCAR Community Earth System Model or similar IPCC-class models. The primary focus of the project is to investigate simulated multiple equilibria of the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) under modern climate conditions.
Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for conducting future transient CO2 simulations under the same ocean model configurations used to simulate the modern climate, with the aim of assessing potential tipping points. The work will be supervised by Professors Guido Vetoretti and Markus Jochum.
The position involves research, including obligations related to publication and scientific communication. Pedagogical training is also available with this role. The post may include other duties as required.
KU values diversity and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates regardless of their personal background.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct research in earth system modelling
- Develop and apply advanced climate models
- Analyze data and publish results in reputable scientific journals
- Participate in pedagogical training and assist in teaching
About the Position:
This full-time position is covered by the Memorandum on Job Structure for Academic Staff. Salary and benefits are based on the agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and The Danish Confederation of Professional Associations on Academics in the State.
Negotiation for a salary supplement is possible.
Applicants must submit their application electronically through the APPLY NOW link below. Please ensure that your application includes:
- A curriculum vitae
- Diplomas (Master's and PhD degree or equivalent)
- A research plan detailing current and future research plans
