Senior Researcher in Advanced Earth Observation Techniques

The University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to conduct research on foundation models for accommodating Earth Observation. This is an exceptional opportunity to explore novel self-supervised methods on multi-source, multi-scale Earth Observation data and develop computationally efficient algorithms for large-scale Earth Observation.
Key Responsibilities:- Conduct innovative research on foundation models for Earth Observation
- Explore new self-supervised learning techniques for satellite image translation
- Develop and implement efficient algorithms for processing large-scale Earth Observation data
The successful candidate will be part of the Department of Geosciences and Natural Resource Management and work closely with Assistant Professor Ankit Kariryaa. They will contribute to a dynamic research environment and collaborate with other members of the research group.
Requirements:- PhD degree in computer science, statistics, mathematics, GIS or similar
- Experience with self-supervised learning, stable diffusion, or related areas
- Strong programming skills in Python
- High level of motivation and ability to drive projects to completion
We offer a competitive salary, commensurate with experience, ranging from 61,840-69,440 DKK (approximately 8,290-9,300 USD) per month depending on seniority, as well as a comprehensive benefits package including access to state-of-the-art research facilities, opportunities for professional development, and a stimulating working environment.
