Research Areas

The Department of Political Science and Public Management at the University of Southern Denmark invites applications for PhD scholarships within the research areas of:

  • Political Science
  • Public Administration
  • International and Regional Politics

  • Journalism Studies
Requirements and Program Structure

As a PhD student, you will follow an individual PhD plan including course work, conference participation, and teaching. You will be affiliated with one of the department's three research sections: Public Administration, Welfare and Politics (PAWP), International and Regional Politics (IRP), or Journalism (JOUR).

Program Details

The PhD program spans over three years (fully salaried) or four years (with a master's degree). You will be enrolled in the PhD program in Political Science, Journalism, or Social Sciences. The scholarship carries a monthly salary including pension, office facilities, and financial support for conference travels and research visits abroad.

Assessment Process

Applications will be assessed by an internal committee. Shortlisted applications will be evaluated based on the project proposal, academic qualifications, and other relevant criteria. The assessment report will be forwarded to the head of department, who will assemble an appointment committee to determine the successful candidate.
