Associate Professor of Companion Animal Surgery

The University of Copenhagen is seeking an Associate Professor of Companion Animal Surgery to join the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences. This is a permanent position that requires a high level of original scientific work at an international level in companion animal surgery.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research and publish academic papers in the field of companion animal surgery.
- Teach and examine undergraduate students in veterinary clinical sciences.
- Develop and lead independent research projects and clinical studies in companion animal surgery.
- Participate in the University Hospital for Companion Animals service, including soft tissue and orthopaedic surgery.
- Supervise and assist colleagues and referring veterinarians in companion animal surgery.
- Initiate and lead funding applications for research projects.
- Research qualifications at the level of an assistant professor or postdoc.
- Diplomate status from the European or American Colleges of Veterinary Surgery or other postgraduate education in specialized companion animal surgery.
- Teaching qualifications and pedagogical competencies.
- Research-based teaching.
- A DVM with a license to practice in Denmark or willingness to apply for such within 6 months.
- A strong track record of international publications.
- Clinical experience with surgery from specialized companion animal practice or university veterinary teaching hospital setting.
