Job Opportunity

Human Rights Watch seeks a skilled professional to join its Copenhagen office as a Coordinator in the Development and Outreach Department.

The selected candidate will provide administrative support to the Copenhagen team, including coordinating events, managing databases, and communicating with donors.

This is a fixed-term position for about eight months, starting in September 2024, with an option to work occasional evenings and weekends.

The Coordinator will report to the Senior Associate Director of Development in Copenhagen and work closely with the team to achieve fundraising and outreach goals.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinating events, including Voices for Justice Dinner, film screenings, and private events
  • Managing databases, including Salesforce, to track donor information and gifts
  • Communicating with donors, including drafting solicitation strategies and donor communications
  • Providing administrative support to the Copenhagen office, including scheduling, preparing materials, and responding to inquiries

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's degree in human rights, international relations, or a related field
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience, including office administration and event planning
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with proficiency in MS Office applications
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks with minimal supervision

  • Coordinate the preparation, production, and follow-up of major organizational fundraising, cultivation, and outreach events
  • Assist in strategizing and implementing new initiatives and partnerships

Database Management:

  • Ensure the integrity and confidentiality of donor data

Donor Communications:

  • Communicate with donors, including drafting solicitation strategies and donor communications
  • Maintain and grow the Denmark HRW account on social media

Administrative Support:

  • Provide administrative support to the Copenhagen office, including scheduling, preparing materials, and responding to inquiries
  • Assist in fundraising and events in Norway

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human rights, international relations, or a related field
  • Minimum two years of relevant work experience, including office administration and event planning
