Financial Controller - Copenhagen, Denmark

Financial Controller
to establish and lead the finance function for a rapidly expanding international construction and engineering business delivering turnkey projects across food, pharmaceutical, logistics, and high-tech manufacturing sectors.

Responsibilities:

As
Financial Controller
, you'll play a pivotal role in setting up robust finance processes and ensuring compliance with both local and group standards. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Establishing accounting systems, processes, and reporting for the Danish entity.
  • Managing all accounting operations - AP, AR, payroll, fixed assets, and bank reconciliations.
  • Overseeing tax compliance, including VAT and withholding tax returns.
  • Producing monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and financial statements.
  • Building, training, and leading a finance team as the business grows.

About You:

You'll be a hands-on
Financial Controller
who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. You bring:

  • A degree or master's in accounting or finance; certified accountant qualification preferred.
  • Proven experience within the construction or project-based industry.
  • Strong understanding of local GAAP; knowledge of UK GAAP or IFRS is an advantage.
  • Experience in setting up or scaling finance functions, ideally within an international organisation.
  • Fluency in English and Danish, with excellent communication and leadership skills.
