Technical Project Manager

About The Position

At Cobham Satcom we are looking for a creative, highly motivated Satellite Communication Project Manager to work at the forefront of what makes us successful in Satcom Networks Department.

As our new Technical Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role throughout the entire project lifecycle, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, control, and closing. You will lead and manage cross-functional projects, ensuring they align with the defined scope, schedule, budget, and quality standards.

In this role, you will collaborate closely with various internal departments and external customers, making strong stakeholder management skills essential. You will also be expected to provide valuable technical insights to development teams, facilitating necessary scope changes through both approval and execution processes.

As a Technical Project Manager your
main responsibilities
will involve:

• Leading and executing cross-functional projects, ensuring alignment with planned scope, schedule, cost (development and products), and quality throughout their full lifecycle, in accordance with internal processes and contractual obligations for customers worldwide.
• Proactively managing risks and opportunities, including defining and executing action plans for risk mitigation to prevent adverse effects, and promptly escalating issues as necessary.
• Coordinating projects across diverse teams and departments to ensure timely, on-budget, and high-quality deliveries.
• Collaborating with existing customers to identify needs and requirements for follow-on or new business opportunities, managing scope changes, and directing the preparation of proposals, business plans, and specifications to meet those needs.
• Mentoring and coaching team members while contributing to the implementation of PMO best practices and processes to enhance project efficiency and effectiveness.

Required Qualifications:

• Master of Science Degree in Telecommunications Engineering or a similar technical discipline.
• 5+ years of project management and customer management experience in product development programs.
• Experience with agile and lean development methodologies, including the Agile-Waterfall Hybrid model.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams.
• Proven experience in customer-facing roles, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Proficiency with documentation and collaboration tools, such as Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, MS Office, and MS Project.
• A proven track record of successfully leading development efforts through design, execution, and verification stages in the satellite or telecommunications technologies domain.
