Applications are invited for a 2-year post doc position in Daan van Aalten laboratory at the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics, Aarhus University, Denmark.


Expected start date and duration of employment

This is a 2-year position starting from 15 November 2024. The position is fixed-termed and ends on 14 November 2026.

Job description

You will be part of an international and dynamic team to focus on identification of modulators in O-GlcNAc homeostasis and associated regulatory mechanisms.
You will be working in collaboration with other members of the group and other groups at AU. This project involves different methodology including cell culture, neuronal differentiation, transcriptomics and proteomics approaches, and various molecular biology techniques.


Your profile

Applicants should hold PhD degree in an area of the life sciences and have experience in O-GlcNAc field. Furthermore, previous experience as postdoc is an advantage.

Requirements: Skills regarding: Cell culture: particularly with mouse and human embryonic stem cells. CRISPR-Cas genome editing. RNAseq and ChIPseq Immunofluorescence and microscopy imaging. Molecular biology techniques. Candidates should have the following personal skills: Ability to work independently Ability to train/supervise students Excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. A methodological approach to work, and exceptional organisational skills. Fluency in English spoken and written


Who we are

The postdoc will be affiliated to the Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics.

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics is part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Aarhus University and comprises research within the areas of Plant Molecular Biology, Neurobiology, RNA Biology and Innovation, Protein Science, Cellular Health, Intervention and Nutrition. There are currently 75 full time scientific staff and 95 PhD students. The department is responsible for two educations: Molecular Biology and Molecular Medicine with a yearly uptake of 160 students in total.
