Team Lead for Database team in Global IT

In Global IT, you will get a unique opportunity to both head up our Database team and be a specialist in a large, distributed SQL environment – and ultimately ensure a stable production and operation while also influencing the future standard of working with SQL.

Welcome to our Database team
Here, you will meet 3 engineers responsible for our SQL databases and participate in projects in relation to system implementation. Together, they ensure a stable and reliable database platform – now and in the future. Moreover, you will join a leadership team within Global IT to coordinate efforts.

“Your new team of 3 work well together. Their conversations are honest and direct but always with care and concern as the cornerstone. And they are good at planning their own time while also assisting each other along the way,” explains Morten.

Develop the team and assist in the daily tasks
Based in Horsens, a good part of your job will revolve around classic management of the team, such as distributing resources, planning holidays, and having appraisals. But an important part of your job will also be to:

Coordinate tasks and projects in collaboration with our project managers Report on internal projects Make operation decisions within the team Allocate tasks from our ticket system of incidents and requests for service Manage stakeholders across the organisation such as system owners and suppliers

Moreover, you will participate with your team in some of the technical tasks on a day-to-day basis but also ensure that we maintain a solid focus on service and developing the way we work. Specifically, you will be instrumental in setting the direction for the architecture of our systems. 

“We’re about to introduce new ways of working with backup and surveillance and a new standard for how we work with SQL – all of which you’ll have a say in,” says Morten.

Management and SQL experience
We are looking for a person who can stand their ground and set a clear direction for the team. Also, you must be able to maintain an overview and create structure around our daily tasks – but also be ready to pitch in and lend a hand on a practical, technical level. 

Finally, we imagine that you:

Have some IT management experience, perhaps as a team lead Are experienced within SQL, backup and monitoring Are fluent in both Danish and English
