Customer Insights Specialists

Analyse video materials of customer behavior from all around the world, in order for us to help companies gain better customer insights & accelerate innovation

What does the work consist of?

Sonar (formerly UserTribe) is a platform that recruits and records user participants from specific target markets all around the globe. User participants share their opinions and experiences to help companies gain more knowledge about their customers and improve their overall performance. Your role lies in analysing these customer insights in relation to people's understanding of the world and cultural environment, in order to help enlighten companies.

Specialists analyse customer data in video format. You will receive a data set of typically 5-20 videos of participants interacting with a website, an app, a marketing campaign, textual stimuli, or similar, from which you will derive actionable insights. You generally have 2 - 7 days to finish a single project.

At Sonar we base our principles of analysis upon the concept of Atomic Research, which you will be thoroughly introduced to as part of your onboarding process.

In addition, we in Sonar believe in the value of providing our client's culturally sensitive analyses, meaning that our specialists deliver customer insights from markets that they have cultural and linguistic competencies in.

What should you expect from this job?

The work is challenging but fun You will get a chance to become familiar with insights from different industries and the opportunity to use your already expert analytical skills or develop them further.

Will I work independently?

Yes, you will be working independently from where-ever you are based, however, if you need it, we have an online support team ready to assist if you have any questions or encounter any challenges during your work.

How will my workload be?

Like most freelancer jobs, you commit to short term assignments. You can decline as many projects as you want, but once accepted and assigned to a project, we expect full-time commitment during that project.

What qualifications do I need?

You need to have experience with qualitative research methods and preferably within anthropology, UX research, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), behavioural analysis, or related fields. Most importantly you must have strong
analytical skills and an ability to summarise and condense data into clear and concise insights.

You can come from anywhere in the world, but you must have full proficiency in English.

How do I get paid?

Specialists are well-rewarded for their work and are paid per research study. The base salary will vary depending on the research study, according to aspects such as the number of participants, interview length, etc. Typically, an analysis of 10 videos (16 hours of work approx.) is rewarded with approximately 400 EUR.

Your pay is also dependent on the quality of your work. After each completed project, we assess the quality and apply a multiplier to your base salary corresponding to the quality that has been delivered. You can earn up to a 30 percent bonus for deliverables of outstanding quality. After delivering your work, we transfer the money to your bank account.

How do I get started?

Sign up on our projects Shortlist, upload your CV, and provide a short description of your skills and expertise. If you match the profile we are looking for, we will invite you to complete an online ‘trial case’ (taking approximately 5 - 8 hours) where you get a feel of the format and procedure when producing, as well as demonstrate your analytical and reporting
abilities.
