At GoGift, we are seeking an ambitious and diligent Senior Accountant to help build and scale our finance team.

Recently acquired by private equity fund Waterland, GoGift is positioned for significant growth. Your role will be crucial in supporting our vision to become the world's leading gift card provider from a financial perspective. Success in this position requires exceptional organizational skills, intellectual curiosity, and perseverance, coupled with a professional mindset and financial expertise.

The Role

This position offers a unique opportunity for an accounting professional to join GoGift's finance team during a pivotal transition period. Following our acquisition by Waterland, we must now insource all financial operations previously managed by Nordisk Film's shared service center. Your role will be essential in ensuring this transition is seamless and successful.

As a key member of our team, you'll manage dedicated accounting areas while helping establish a strong financial foundation to support our continued global expansion. The accounting team faces the complex challenge of maintaining accurate financial records for GoGift's operations across more than 70 countries and 20+ currencies. Your expertise will directly contribute to our international growth trajectory and financial stability.

The Finance team currently consists of 7 members. You will report directly to the Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Bookkeeping & Balance Reconciliation: Manage complex accounting entries and ensure balance sheet accuracy.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform daily and monthly reconciliations for multiple accounts and currencies.
  • Cash Management: Monitor cash positions, forecast needs, and manage banking relationships.
  • Accounts Payable & Inventory Management: Oversee accounts payable cycle and maintain inventory records.

Process Improvements

  • Optimize Financial Processes: Develop and enhance accounting procedures for efficiency.
  • Internal Control Systems: Implement robust internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure data integrity.
  • Process Automation: Identify and implement automation opportunities to improve accounting functions.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Multi-Entity Accounting: Lead the complete accounting cycle for several smaller companies within the group.
  • Capital Structure Reporting: Prepare accurate financial reports related to capital structure and financing.
  • Audit Collaboration: Work closely with external auditors during year-end and audits.

Requirements

We expect that as a person, you are energetic and have a positive attitude that influences your surroundings. You have an overview and the ability to identify and proactively address and solve challenges and tasks which are new for you. Furthermore, you work analytically and have a solution-oriented approach to things including high delivery reliability. Additionally, you take responsibility for creating good collaboration - both within the Finance team and in relation to the rest of GoGift.

Furthermore, we expect that:

  • You have a relevant financial education and several years of experience in finance and accounting in a similar position in a global company.
  • You have insights in Treasury tasks such as cash management and currency risk.
  • You have a firm grasp of ERP/accounting systems, preferably Navision/Business Central.
  • You are an experienced Excel user.
  • You have knowledge of Danish accounting practices and VAT rules.
  • You are data savvy and can use technology to work smart.
  • You must be fluent in Danish, both written and spoken, to ensure compliance with Danish GAAP and effective communication within the company and with external stakeholders.
