DMI - Danmarks Meteorologiske Institut, a leading national weather forecast and warning authority for Denmark and Greenland, seeks an experienced Predictive Weather Modelling Specialist. This full-time position is within the field of environmental sciences, with a special focus on meteorology and numerical weather prediction.

About the Job

The successful candidate will contribute to the development and application of innovative data-driven models for accurate and near real-time prediction of weather. As a member of our team, you will collaborate with international research partners to advance our understanding of weather prediction and its role in supporting the green transition.

About Us

DNI has approximately 380 employees, most of whom work at DMI's headquarters at Sankt Kjelds Gård in Østerbro. Our new place features interior design that allows for an activity-based way of working.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A Master's or Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics, atmospheric sciences, applied physics, data science, or a closely related field.
  • Substantial experience and a proven track record in scientific machine learning, particularly in the context of environmental sciences.
  • Strong proficiency in scientific programming, including software development for data analysis and modeling, and experience with frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively.
