Postdoctoral Researcher in Volatile Interactions
2 weeks ago
Københavns Universitet (KU) is a leading research-intensive university that offers a stimulating and dynamic working environment. We are committed to diversity and inclusion, and we welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of personal background.
The Center for Volatile Interactions is a state-of-the-art facility located in Universitetsparken, Copenhagen, where we have laboratory facilities and state-of-the-art instrumentation for analyses of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), molecular analyses of microbial community structure and activity, as well as incubation and climate chamber facilities. The center has currently two proton-transfer-reaction time-of-flight mass-spectrometers (PTR-TOF-MS) and two thermal desorber-gas chromatograph-mass spectrometers (GC-MS) including different sample introduction possibilities.
As a postdoctoral researcher, you will have access to these facilities and equipment, and you will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team of researchers working on various projects related to marine volatile interactions.
Responsibilities:
- Investigate fluxes of volatiles associated with marine bacterioplankton and phytoplankton
- Conduct field and experimental work
- Cultivate bacteria and phytoplankton
- Analyze data using molecular community analyses (bioinformatics), aquatic microbial ecology, and VOC measurements
- Lead-write and co-author scientific publications
