The University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly qualified anthropologist to join its Department of Anthropology. The successful candidate will work on the PROMACS research project, which examines the intersections between climate change, security crises, and health crises in Burkina Faso.

Job Description

This PhD scholarship offers an exciting opportunity to conduct ethnographic research on civil servants working in the core of the state. The researcher will explore how civil servants understand their roles in policy promotion and implementation in a context of multiple crises. The study will provide valuable insights into how focus and coordination of climate change adaptation initiatives can be strengthened.

The position requires strong research skills, including proficiency in ethnography and digital research methods. The candidate should have a Master's degree in anthropology or a related field and excellent language skills in English and French. Experience with teaching and knowledge dissemination is also desirable.

As part of the 5+3 PhD study program, the researcher will receive a salary according to the agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC). The work obligation includes up to 840 hours over three years without additional pay, which can include teaching responsibilities.

Salary

The salary for this position is estimated to be around DKK 385,000 per year (approximately EUR 51,000), depending on qualifications and experience.
