Postdoctoral Researcher in RNA Modifications and Gene Expression

The Department of Molecular Biology and Genetics at Aarhus University invites applications for a postdoctoral research position in RNA modifications and gene expression. As a postdoctoral researcher, you will work in a collaborative environment studying non-coding RNA and RNA modifications. You will use a combination of molecular biology methods and biochemistry to study RNA modifications and their impact on transcript localization and gene expression, in combination with next-generation sequencing and RNA and protein mass spectrometry.

  • You will have opportunities to collaborate with other MBG researchers on scientific topics related to the project.
  • You will be encouraged to and supported in applying for external funding.
  • You will receive training to develop grant writing and scientific communication skills.
  • You will improve your mentoring skills through interactions with PhD/Master's/Bachelor's thesis students.
  • You will contribute to the daily lab management, attend project meetings and departmental seminars as part of an international, dynamic team.

The successful candidate is offered an independent research project, dedicated mentoring and a career development plan to foster strong career possibilities. Requirements

Applicants should be interested in the molecular mechanisms of RNA modifications and gene expression and hold a PhD degree in a relevant area. Applicants with extensive wet-lab experience are encouraged to apply.

  • Experience with RNA-protein interactions, RNA-sequencing, CLIP-based methods, smFISH and mass spectrometry will be an advantage.
  • Demonstrated record of international publications.
  • Desire to collaborate with other researchers in the group and at the institute, as well as internationally.
  • Fluent professional English, that is the working language of the group.
