Job Summary:

Human Rights Watch is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Coordinator to provide administrative support to the Development and Outreach Department in our Copenhagen office. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating fundraising events, managing donor databases, and providing administrative support to the team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the preparation, production, and follow-up of major fundraising events, including the Voices for Justice Dinner and film screenings.
  • Provide administrative support to the Development and Outreach Department, including scheduling, preparing materials for meetings, and responding to inquiries.
  • Manage donor databases, including gift entry, prospect research, and tracking donor information.
  • Liaise with the HRW Next Generation network in Denmark and develop strategies to expand the network.
  • Assist in fundraising and events in Norway and track donor information for Norway.
  • Provide logistical support for events and fundraising, including maintaining spreadsheets, documenting gifts, and preparing solicitation materials.
  • Maintain the Salesforce database and ensure the integrity and confidentiality of donor data.
  • Support the daily activities of the Copenhagen Circle of Friends, donors, and prospects, including conducting research, preparing donor solicitation strategies, and drafting donor communications.
  • Assist with the recruitment, inclusion, and mentoring of interns as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in human rights, international relations, social science, communication, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of relevant work experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in Danish and English.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to work well under pressure.
  • Self-motivation and ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Analytical skills and ability to make sound decisions.
  • Proficiency in computer programs, including MS Office applications, and experience with Salesforce or other donor databases is highly desirable.
