About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at IT University of Copenhagen.

Job Description

The successful candidate will conduct research activities in collaboration with fellow faculty members at the Danish Institute for IT Program Management and the Computer Science Department. The role involves contributing to the IT University's education programs, giving courses, supervising BSc and MSc theses, and engaging with society through external collaboration.

Requirements

To be considered for this position, you must have a PhD in statistics or mathematics with a strong emphasis on foundational statistics and its applications. You should also possess expertise in frequentist, Bayesian, and likelihood-based inference statistics through research and teaching experience.

  • A Ph.D. in statistics or mathematics.
  • Expertise in statistical methods and software.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

You will be expected to work effectively in a collaborative academic environment, attract external research funding, supervise PhD students, and read/speak a Scandinavian language or have the willingness to learn Danish.

Salary and Benefits

Estimated salary: DKK 650,000 - 750,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. Salary increases annually according to the Ministry of Taxation's agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (AC) and job structure for academic staff at Universities.
