At Københavns Universitet, we seek an exceptional Data Scientist to lead our research efforts in public health innovation. With a strong background in genomic analysis and AI-based tools, you will develop novel methodologies to improve pandemic preparedness.

Job Description

We are looking for an Associate Professor who will be involved in methods development combining genetic data with a broad range of data types and methodological approaches. The successful candidate will have experience in software tool development, inferring processes driving the emergence and evolution of new strains, and obtaining competitive funding for research objectives.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Research, including publication and academic dissemination
  • Research-based teaching and examination
  • Research leadership and guidance of researchers
  • Societal impact through participation in public debate
  • Academic assessments

The position involves developing novel computational instruments for nowcasting and forecasting epidemic outbreaks, as well as collaborating with the rest of the faculty on the uptake of health data science. We offer a permanent position with 37 hours per week.

Requirements
  • Research qualifications at the level achieved by completing a period of employment as an assistant professor or postdoc
  • Teaching qualifications and pedagogical competencies
  • Research-based teaching

The salary is approximately DKK 650,000 per year, which is based on the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations).
