Are you an expert in Backup? We are seeking a skilled professional to define, standardize, and support the installation, configuration, and monitoring of Backup environments across a global scale IT infrastructure.

As a Backup IT Operations Specialist for Production Infrastructure, you will be ensuring daily operations of Backup services across all PSnet domains globally, providing advanced troubleshooting, while also focusing on agile implementation and simplifying operations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage, build, and operate backup environments, appliances, supporting tools, and technical documentation according to Novo Nordisk standards, including requirement specifications and test plans, ensuring a standardized IT infrastructure platform for consistency and reliability
  • Monitor, handle errors, and manage new installations while participating in projects and collaborating with specialists from various product areas
  • Optimize systems to ensure high levels of performance, availability, and security
  • Independently analyze, solve, and correct issues in real-time, providing end-to-end problem resolution
  • Take responsibility for deliveries to customers in accordance with approved Service Level Agreements, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and performance of services delivered from Global IT Operations (GITO) - Production Infrastructure

The skills we hope to see

In this role, we require a certain level of mobility, as travel to our production sites might be necessary depending on the activity. You should also fulfill most of the following requirements for this position:

  • At least 5 years of hands-on experience in operating and maintaining enterprise backup environments, preferably in a large organization (graduate degree in a relevant field is considered as a plus)
  • Basic knowledge of Linux Redhat is essential, it is also an advantage if you have knowledge of Netbackup Appliances, and experience optimizing and error handling within the NetBackup solution
  • Good understanding of infrastructure like Windows Server Failover Clustering (knowledge is essential for Windows server 2016, 2019, 2022)
  • Microsoft Active Directory services
  • Server infrastructure, Active Directory, OU structure, AD Policy, PowerShell (commands and scripting), network, servers, and firewalls
  • Proficiency in spoken and written English

In terms of agile skills, the candidate should be able to work in an Agile manner, supporting processes such as DSU, DEMO, and PI Plannings. Being ready to work within Agile principles, mindset, culture, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Scrum, Kanban, SAFe) is crucial.

About the team

Our Production IT Infrastructure department is responsible for setting the direction of a global uniform IT infrastructure in Product Supply by delivering compliant operations, effective IT Security controls, and best-practice infrastructure standards.

Moreover, our department looks after the definition, implementation, and maintenance of Product Supply IT network infrastructure (PSnet) supporting the manufacturing equipment and applications that are used in the production process. PSnet can be seen as a large network that connects and aligns all the Novo Nordisk productions networks in a uniform and regulated approach.
