Job Title: Protection Project Manager

At Folkekirkens Nødhjælp, we seek a highly skilled and experienced Protection Project Manager to join our team in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The successful candidate will lead the implementation of our protection and multisectoral response activities in the DRC programme area.

Job Summary:
The Protection Project Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and implementation of protection and shelter projects within the programme area. This includes project planning, budgeting, and monitoring, as well as ensuring that all projects meet the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and impact. The successful candidate will also be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local authorities, humanitarian partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and coordination.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement project plans, including project scope, objectives, timelines, and milestones, in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all projects are implemented in accordance with Folkekirkens Nødhjælp's technical quality standards and best practices.
  • Build and maintain relationships with local authorities, humanitarian partners, and other stakeholders to ensure effective collaboration and coordination.
  • Oversee the management of project teams and ensure that they have the necessary skills, training, and resources to deliver high-quality projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate project progress, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure that all projects are implemented in a manner that is sensitive to the local context and respects the rights and dignity of all individuals.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as international development, humanitarian studies, or social sciences.
  • At least 3 years of experience in project management, preferably in a humanitarian or development context.
  • Proven experience in protection and shelter programming, including project planning, implementation, and monitoring.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and team management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Fluency in English and French, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages.
