Folkekirkens Nødhjælp is seeking a seasoned Humanitarian Protection Program Manager to lead its protection projects in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the implementation of effective protection strategies and strengthen partnerships with local authorities and humanitarian stakeholders.

About the Role:

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the development and implementation of protection projects, ensuring they are aligned with Folkekirkens Nødhjælp's strategy and standards. You will also provide technical guidance and support to program teams, promoting quality programming and best practices.

To succeed in this role, you will need strong project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, and a deep understanding of protection principles and humanitarian contexts. Experience working in complex environments and collaborating with diverse stakeholders is essential.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A university degree or advanced degree in a relevant field, such as international relations, social sciences, law, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in humanitarian protection programming, including experience in managing projects, teams, and partnerships.
  • Proven expertise in protection monitoring, case management, community-based protection, and/or GBV programming.
  • Familiarity with international humanitarian law, human rights, and refugee law.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and advocacy skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (French is an asset).
