Folkekirkens Nødhjælp invites applications for a Humanitarian Program Manager - Protection and Response in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to manage our humanitarian programs in the DRC, focusing on protection and response. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and managing projects, ensuring quality standards, timely delivery, and effective coordination with local authorities and partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement program strategies, scope, objectives, timelines, and milestones in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Ensure program adaptability to the operational context and adapt tools and project implementation approaches under the supervision of the Programs department.
  • Plan and oversee project performance as defined in the project proposal and according to the distribution of roles, in liaison with support services.
  • Coordinate protection and shelter activities, ensuring highest protection mainstreaming standards throughout project implementation.
  • Establish contacts and operational links with local authorities and humanitarian actors involved in the project for activity implementation.
  • In coordination with MEAL teams, ensure accountability systems adapted to the project context are put in place.
Requirements
  • University degree or Advanced University degree in a relevant field (e.g., political science, human rights, humanitarian project management, social work, international law, international development).
  • 3-5 years of practical experience in the Protection field working for an INGO.
  • Experience in protection monitoring, case management, community-based protection, and/or GBV.
  • Proven working experience in conflict and displacement affected areas.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills for external audiences.
  • Experience producing high-quality technical material (training material, program tools, proposals, strategic documents).
