As an Optical Engineer, you will be involved in designing new advanced research equipment and performing service and repair on existing instruments, often in cross-disciplinary collaboration between mechanics and electronics.

A broad knowledge of optical design and instrumentation is necessary to provide a good foundation for building specialized equipment partly in Ultra High Vacuum. Good collaboration skills and the ability to delegate tasks are essential to support your colleagues in a joint team effort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing and improving novel wafer-scale characterization and pattern alignment using optical methods.
  • Creating prototype optical setups utilizing laser sources, cameras, alignment stages, mirrors, etc.
  • Coordinating projects and roadmaps with tools and process development teams towards fully packaged QPU's.
  • Performing tests, troubleshooting, and debugging performance issues.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • MSc or PhD in Physics specializing in optical engineering.
  • Self-motivating personality with high personal drive, commitment, and initiative.
  • Willingness to share knowledge and teach others.
  • Ability to collaborate well with academic partners.
  • Data acquisition and control.
  • Preferably experience with Ultra High Vacuum systems.
  • Win/Linux/Python/C software knowledge.
  • Meticulous writing of documentation and test reports.
Benefits
