Assistant Professor in Special Needs Education

We are seeking a highly qualified and motivated Assistant Professor in Special Needs Education to join our team at the Danish School of Education, Aarhus University. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting research, teaching, and supervising students in the field of special needs education.
About the PositionThe Assistant Professorship is a full-time, three-year training position that begins on 1 December 2024. The position is based at the Department of Educational Anthropology and Educational Psychology at DPU's campus in either Emdrup (Copenhagen) or Aarhus (Jutland). The selected applicant should expect some travel activity between the two campuses.
Responsibilities- Conduct research in special needs education, focusing on children and youth with special needs arising from difficulties in socio-cultural settings.
- Teach and supervise students in the Master's degree programme in educational psychology and the professional Master's degree programme in the psychology of well-being and capabilities.
- Develop and coordinate course modules, as well as contribute to the development of the department's academic environment.
- Engage in knowledge exchange, including research cooperation with practice fields, private companies, government consultancy, and public dissemination of knowledge.
- PhD or equivalent academic qualifications in a relevant field.
- Research experience in special needs education, with a focus on children and youth with special needs arising from difficulties in socio-cultural settings.
- Excellent teaching and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
