Job Description

The Department of Chemistry at the University of Copenhagen is seeking a highly skilled Materials Chemistry Researcher to join our team. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research projects focusing on materials chemistry with a strong emphasis on X-ray total scattering methods.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience in ultrafast X-ray scattering and Pair Distribution Function analysis, as well as expertise in material synthesis and electrocatalysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in experimental chemistry, nanoscience, or physics, and excellent English communication skills.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent and creative research within materials chemistry
  • Develop and apply advanced modelling techniques for scattering data analysis
  • Collaborate with international colleagues and co-supervise students and group members
Requirements
  • PhD degree in experimental chemistry, nanoscience, physics, or a similar field
  • Extensive experience in synchrotron, neutron, or XFEL experiments
  • Excellent English communication skills and ability to write scientific papers at a high level

The position is open from December 2024, and the estimated salary range is approximately €50,000-€65,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
