Copenhagen, Copenhagen, Denmark Københavns Universitet (KU) Full time

The University of Copenhagen's Department of Chemistry is seeking a highly skilled postdoctoral researcher to join our Nanostructure group. We are looking for an individual with expertise in materials chemistry and X-ray scattering techniques.

This research position is focused on exploring the use of ultrafast X-ray scattering at synchrotron and XFEL sources to study atomic scale structural changes during chemical synthesis of nanoparticles. The successful candidate will have experience in material synthesis, X-ray total scattering, and Pair Distribution Function analysis.

The selected candidate will work closely with Associate Professor Kirsten M. Ø. Jensen and contribute to the development of new synthesis methods using photo-induced reactions. Additionally, they will participate in experiments using in situ synchrotron studies and operando experiments to investigate size/structure relations and formation mechanisms for disordered oxide nanomaterials and high entropy materials.

We offer a competitive salary of approximately DKK 535,000 (€71,400) per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include access to state-of-the-art research facilities, opportunities for professional growth, and a dynamic working environment.

To be considered, applicants must have a PhD degree in experimental chemistry, nanoscience, physics, or a similar field with experience in material synthesis and advanced modeling of scattering data. Excellent English communication skills and the ability to write scientific papers at a high level are also required.
