Job Description

Folkekirkens Nødhjælp invites applications for an experienced Programme Director - Financial Operations. This is a challenging position based in Ar Raqqa.

The successful candidate will provide leadership and guidance on all finance, logistics, administrative, and human resource activities in support of Folkekirkens Nødhjælp's Country Programme and the wider Senior Management Team.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Financial Planning and Budgeting: Provide advice on goal setting, targets, and performance indicators for support staff and recommend tools for monitoring and evaluation.
  • Procurement and Contract Management: Support viable procurement solutions that meet operational needs and compliance with the organisation's procurement procedures, regulations, and standard of accountability, ethics, integrity, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Human Resource Management: Oversee the ongoing development of team composition and structure to ensure it is fit for purpose, aid in the development of Job descriptions/Terms of Reference, follow up field staff-related recruitment processes, and orientation of staff.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 5 years of INGO work experience in a similar managerial role is essential.
  • Experience as a manager, national mentor, and capacity builder is essential.
  • Good understanding of the humanitarian principles linked to NGO field and operations contexts.
  • Work experience in remote and insecure contexts is required.
  • Strong leadership, team building, and communication skills are necessary.
  • Flexibility and cultural awareness and sensitivity are required.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., is essential.
