The University of Copenhagen is seeking an Academic Researcher to join their team in the Sociology of Food department. The ideal candidate will have a PhD degree in sociology or anthropology and be proficient in qualitative data collection methods.

Estimated Salary: €58,000 - €65,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.

Job Description:

About the Project

The position is part of the project entitled 'The Crisis of Habits and New Figurations of Food,' which explores the provisioning of meals across generations and investigates resistance to changing food habits among empty nesters.

Job Content

The postdoc will work closely with other project members to carry out fieldwork in Denmark and investigate how empty nesters figure the relation between territories and food in their everyday practices.

Qualifications
  • Specialization: PhD degree in sociology or anthropology (or related field).
  • Methods: Proficiency in qualitative data collection is required.
  • Analysis and writing: Ability to develop critical analyses and produce high-quality academic texts.
  • Dissemination: Experience in disseminating research for audiences in public and private sectors.
  • Research experience: Experience conducting research in food studies in the North Atlantic region will be considered an asset.
  • Language: Excellent Danish and English language skills, both written and spoken.
