The University of Copenhagen seeks a highly motivated research scientist with expertise in pain biology, single cell RNA sequencing, and in vivo imaging.

Job Description

We are looking for a talented researcher to conduct studies on chronic pain mechanisms in sensory neurons. The successful candidate will have a strong background in neuroscience and experience with animal models of pain.

The research group is led by Associate Professor Kenneth Lindegaard Madsen and focuses on understanding the fundamental aspects of basic pharmacology, molecular pharmacology, and neuropharmacology. Our research aims to improve pain treatment and develop new pharmacological targets.

You will be responsible for designing and conducting experiments using transgenic mice, performing behavioral assays, and analyzing data using advanced statistical methods. Collaboration with researchers within the department and external collaborators is essential to drive the project forward effectively.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • PhD in neuroscience or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years postdoctoral research experience
  • Extensive experience in rodent pain models, particularly in conducting in vivo imaging experiments with transgenic and knockout mouse models
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and design innovative research projects aligned with the group's focus areas
  • International experience and a strong network within the pain field
