Postdoc in Biological Conversion and Utilization of CO2

At DTU Chemical Engineering, we are seeking a highly competent and ambitious postdoctoral researcher to contribute to strengthening our department's competences within gas fermentation technology. The successful candidate will work on a research project funded by the European Innovation Council, collaborating closely with an industrial partner that produces food proteins from CO2.
About the ProjectThe postdoc project will focus on the biological conversion of CO2 to acetic acid in Trickle Bed Reactors at lab- and pilot-scale. You will be responsible for performing kinetic characterisation of the microbial groups involved in CO2 fermentation to acetic acid, as well as collecting data from pilot-scale operation during an external stay at the premises of the industrial partner.
Your Key Responsibilities- Perform biological conversion of CO2 to acetic acid in Trickle Bed Reactors at lab- and pilot-scale.
- Perform kinetic characterisation of the microbial groups involved in CO2 fermentation to acetic acid.
- Collect data from pilot-scale operation during an external stay at the premises of the industrial partner.
To succeed in this role, you should have a PhD degree in a relevant field, such as biochemical engineering or microbiology. You should also have experience in handling and culturing anaerobic microbial cultures, operating bioreactors in batch and/or continuous mode, and gas fermentation.
