Project Manager with a focus on Early Childhood Development and Humanitarian Response

About the Role

PlanBørnefonden is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to lead our Early Childhood Care and Education (ECD) and Humanitarian programs. The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management, technical expertise in ECD and humanitarian response, and experience working in a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide overall leadership and project management for ECD and humanitarian programs, including representation towards donors and stakeholders.
  • Ensure program implementation is on track to meet work plans and budgets, working closely with project staff and country office.
  • Work with grants controllers to ensure compliance with donor requirements and reporting.
  • Coordinate with MERL, Advocacy, and Technical colleagues to ensure resources are brought in at the right time and ensure timely delivery of activities and tasks.
  • Ensure project closure and lead and coordinate high-quality final narrative and financial reporting to donors.
  • Share learning from programs across PlanBørnefonden and the broader Plan International federation.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience managing and coordinating ECD and humanitarian projects.
  • A relevant Master's degree in International Development, ECD, health, or humanitarian fields.
  • Experience working and living in a humanitarian and development setting.
  • Experience in working with gender transformative approaches.
  • Experience in providing technical support in ECD and humanitarian in a global organization.
  • Experience with logical framework approach (LFA) frameworks, needs assessments, proposal writing, budgeting, and reporting skills.
  • Ability to travel for work-related activities.
  • Fluency in English, knowledge of French strongly preferable.

Working Conditions

  • Starting date: 1st of November 2024.
  • Position duration: 1 year, with the possibility of extension.
  • Expected travel: Approximately 40 days a year.
  • Location: Copenhagen, Denmark. It is required that you hold a working permit.
