Job DescriptionWe seek an experienced Head of R&D to lead our strain development activities. This role combines cutting-edge experiment design, data interpretation, cross-team collaboration, and strategic communication with senior stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5+ years of hands-on industrial R&D experience in strain development and relevant education (PhD or MSc) in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field.
Responsibilities- Lead innovation efforts across multidisciplinary teams, optimizing existing products and developing new ones via biological and chemical processes
- Manage all strain development and computational team activities, translating overall strategy into objectives and tasks
- Collaborate with management to define strategic objectives and manage key priority projects
- Apply project management expertise to strain development initiatives
- Work closely with scientific teams to drive research and development goals
- Manage external research partnerships
- At least 5+ years of experience in industrial R&D, specifically in strain development
- Relevant education (PhD or MSc) in Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Bioinformatics, or a related field
- Proven ability in interpreting scientific data and understanding statistics
- Effective communication skills to translate scientific data into actionable decisions and engage with stakeholders
- Creative problem-solving skills, passion for sustainable biotechnology, and a drive to challenge the status quo

- An estimated salary of €120,000 - €180,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications
